Still Rockin'

We were at a loss for what to give a friend for his 40th birthday.
This print by Christopher David Ryan would have worked well,
especially for him.

Mirrors and Circle Print

I was browsing West Elm's site and realized that I was liking the wall decor and rooms more than I was liking the product being showcased. I want to do something similar to the mirror display in the top picture.

Preserving Children's Art

I can't wait till we have enough artistic "favorites" from each child to create one of these art collages for each of them. It is the most genius solution to the never-ending struggle over what to do with all of the kid's masterpieces.

Art Ledge

Love the ledge, love the art, love the room.

Circle Sketch

This simple sketch really grabbed me.

A shot of Nate Berkus' apartment. I think the item against the wall on the right might say God Bless America, and am wondering if it is a chalkboard or permanent art. Either way it adds some fun and patriotism to the room.

Love

It is too easy to forget that you are truly in love with someone. Its not that you don't love them anymore, you just find yourself taking the relationship and all the emotions it can contain for granted. You get lazy with the relationship and let go things that make that relationship what it is. At least that is what I have found.

I've started to put together a spot for me, and I am toying with framing some "love" prints and overlapping them on an art ledge. It could be a fun addition to a fun spot. We'll see. It might be nice to have a casual reminder that I have something worth cherishing and that to keep it that way I need to remember that I have it.

Some prints I am liking (from a very quick search):
Don't you love this print? The wording more than anything.

Anything by Made by Girl:

Especially Deeply Madly

I'm trying to decide if I like this print
by I Am Still Alive. It fits the theme, but is it too much?

I'm not meaning to sound all obnoxious and "oh, I have the best relationship ever," or "my marriage is doomed." I just needed to do this to remind me of how easy it is to get completely absorbed in our daily lives and our kids and forget why we decided to make a life together in the first place.

Art Ledges

I am finally feeling the need to add the details we need to make this house more of a home. We've only been here a year and a half . . .

I might add a few art ledges to a couple spots in the house. They are great for display and organization, but can be contained so a room still looks clean and not cluttered.

Perfectly Lovely

This was created by repeatedly balancing a sheet of paper on the nibs of a set of Pantone pens.

There are so many neat things you can do if you just let your mind wander for a minute or two.

Note to self: Let mind wander more often . . .

These colors aren't what I am usually drawn to, but I really like this piece by Tamara Jensen
