Loft

I've become a bit obsessed with wanting an open loft - an area dedicated to the kids to be used for play, reading, and eventually homework. It would be their little place to escape to that would still keep everyone close. This setup looks doable.

I like the idea of a random picture wall for one spot in the house.

Map Window Shadew

I never would have thought of putting a map on a roller shade kit...

DIY Bird Mobile

Isn't this mobile stunning? A bright and colorful bird mobile might be just what the corner of my daughter's soon-to-be-yellow room needs. Read more about the how-to here and here, and see the bird pattern here.

Fire Pole

My son would go crazy over this.

(I just showed him the picture and after staring wide-eyed for a minute he informed that he wanted a bed just like that.)

Color + Animals

Aren't these details great?
I am loving the color and the genius way of displaying stuffed animals.

Creative Child's Floor Covering

foam alphabet tiles as rug
We have a pack of foam alphabet tiles that is really just collecting dust.
Using them to make a "rug" is brilliant.

Eames Elephant

If Baby Girl inherits the guest room furniture I might need to splurge on an Eames Elephant to add a little fun and whimsy to her room. She is an animal lover after all!

Concept Interiors

I want a hole in my wall.

Some extra time during the day would be nice too.

ABC Shelf

The chalkboard is great, but the ABC shelf is what has me really excited.

Kid's Room

If this was our home we would have to start eating meals in the bedroom because the kids would never want to leave it.

Ofi Bench Box

Woohoo! This bookshelf I liked is the Offi Bench Box (with tube legs, not casters). You can get it with a pad too.

I had decided I was just going to get Ikea's Expedit Bookcase, turn it on its side, and find steel tube legs - now I'm not sure. The Offi bench isn't available until 2009 though, and my son needs shelves now.

I like the low profile look of the Lack Shelf used like Sfgirlbybay did (Thanks Jane!), but it would be a bit long for the room.
