Found these darling cupcake bites on Bakerella; they are just too fun. The cake pops would be a fun way to dress up Ashley's Oreo truffles.

Sugar
My friend has given up sugar and red meat for Lent, and while I am not converting to Catholicism I though it would be interesting to join her in the no sugar part after V-day. I've never given up sugar and am curious to see how it will go. I like savory more than sweet, so I have to think that it shouldn't be too bad, although we all know what deprivation will do to us! I am making an exception for A's b-day cake and our favorite Rice a'la monde that I will be making for M's class this week (I have to bring in something with cherries for a snack (?) and I sweeten this by taste so I'll have to have a bite or two!). We'll see how I feel about this whole thing come Easter!

Oh boy. AS a fellow person who has done the no sugar deal once before and is currently trying to do it, my biggest piece of advice is don't justify it for the birthday cake! When I was off it cold turkey for 6 months (not even in cereal, breads, etc - like hardcore off it) it became pretty easy to stay off after about 3 weeks. Ya I justified it by having a homeade cinnamon roll on my birthday and that was pretty much the end of that. My vote is you make it 4x as hard on yourself if you have a cheat thing. Good luck with it though! The other thing you have going for you is that you prefer savory and I prefer all things sugar.
Thanks for the advice Tara, I will definitely keep it in mind. Both cheat times are this week, the first week, so I'm considering it more of a transition period!
I didn't know (or remember) you went off sugar so extremely, wow.
Good idea. Those little cakes are adorable! I wish I was that talented.
Me too.
