Window Panel Chalkboard Calender
"Tell us about the unique chalkboard/calendar. Is it custom?
Funnily enough, we found this wooden frame at a church rummage sale for $5 when we lived in NY. My husband didn't see the potential, but I promised I would think of something great to do with it. A few months later, I was looking for a big family calendar and ended up painting a piece of masonite board with chalkboard paint and fit it into the frame. It is one of my favorite things in the house. It helps keep us running smoothly."
I'm not much of a bug person, but this is a great way of displaying a bug or any other collection in progress. It would remind me to keep on searching and collecting.4/21/09

Squares On Wall
I did something similar to this with squares of cork on my office wall and use it as a place to pin and save things. I have loved the look so much that I have seriously toyed with doing it in my entryway. These squares look nicer than cork and show how great the idea can look.design by re:place, image via dti

We Love Jam - Labels
Isn't this label delightful? I love its simplicity. I might have to get ambitious and come up with something similar for next year's freezer jam or to encourage my plans to learn how to can. Seeing how our fruit trees are starting to come back to life I need to figure out how to preserve the abundance of produce. This company, We Love Jam, makes small batches of jam with disappearing and high quality fruit varieties. I am tempted to get on their waiting list.

Perfectly Lovely
This was created by repeatedly balancing a sheet of paper on the nibs of a set of Pantone pens. There are so many neat things you can do if you just let your mind wander for a minute or two.
Note to self: Let mind wander more often . . .

Something to try
Figure out how long you'd spend on something if you were doing it at the last minute. Then give yourself only that amount of time (try setting an alarm), but do it right away instead of putting it off.
-Excerpt from Julie Morgenstern's When Organizing Isn't Enough
I might need to read this book. This is great advice.

Paper Cakes
To make a long story short, there was an attempt at making a paper box cake with individual wedding favors for our guests to take home after our wedding dinner. It didn't work out so well. When I saw the paper cakes from this Etsy company, Daisy and Dots, I knew I had to remember it in case I ever felt a need to improve upon the previous attempt. (By that I mean simply purchase one of these.)5/3/08
