I found this desk and still love it, but acknowledge its drawbacks: glass = constant smudges and no discreet storage, which is nice, but not necessary. I did find a couple alternatives to think about, although they really aren't grabbing me.
Remove all the teeny-bopper surroundings and this desk could be pretty great. It is a style-your-own system so I could add as much storage as I wanted.
This is the desk I want for my me space when the situation merits it. I am currently sitting at a much-loved granite desk/table in our office, but this will be for my upstairs "office."
My "me" space is going to need scads of spots for me to pin things up and keep them separated. I like this color-coordinated bulletin board idea as an alternative to the cork trivets I mentioned earlier. I need simple ways of categorizing things.
Using these cork trivets to decorate an office wall would work perfectly for me. I have all sorts of odds and ends and scraps that wind up on a pile on my desk that would be much better off pinned to their own circle. I might actually get around to doing what I want with those scraps this way and it would keep things separated and organized.
