New Year's Grapes

"In Spain, revelers mark the new year by quickly eating a dozen grapes at midnight. The fruit is said to be a predictor of the year ahead: Each sweet grape represents a good month, each sour grape a less-than-lucky one. "

Martha's idea of threading grapes onto skewers, and serving each in a glass of something bubbly just before the countdown is going to be added to our New Year traditions.

(If any of us stay awake that late.)

We already have the cake pan...

Holiday Parsons Chairs

I wanted to keep this chair-decor idea around just in case I feel extra festive this holiday season.

Chocolate Skulls

These were on clearance at my local WS store so I picked up a pack to stick in the kid's lunches. They are so into skeletons and skulls and this is probably the best time of year to send them to school without becoming the truly creepy family.

I must remember to do more fun festive things. That is what holidays are for!

Candy Basket Cupcakes - Easter

I know this is quite late, but the talented and lovely Sheye Rosemeyer took this photo of some of her Easter cupcakes, and I loved the candy basket idea on top of some of the cupcakes and wanted to remember it for next year.

Sparkly Settings

I thought this was a fun decor idea scanned from Martha Stewart Living (Jan. 08?). They suggest doing this for New Year's, but this is a fun starting point for interesting variations. Plus I am not on the ball enough to read the magazine by the proper holiday.

Chocolate Eggs

I don't know if I will ever actually do this, but I love the idea.
