I just nabbed this unlabeled photo off a friend's blog and have to guess that it comes from the creative mind of Amy Atlas. The table is pure delight at first glance, and then you notice that the stands in the background are little trees, but not just any trees, they are growing lollipops!
Wrapping fruit in parchment paper rather than scooping it from a bowl/plate would allow you to walk around and chat while you ate. This would be great to have out when friends arrive. Or for hungry kiddos who just need to eat more fruit throughout the day....
I usually try to throw chips in a nice bowl rather than leave them in the bag, but this is even better. I may never actually label containers with flavors and line them with parchment paper, but it looks good!
I love using my white bowls to put sides and dips in. These look almost look like pots or vertical take-out containers. I'll have to look for something similar.
September's issue of Bon Appetit is fantastic. The 3 recipes I've tried have been delicious and the Pomodori Al Forno has had me moaning with pleasure all afternoon. (I'll link to the recipe when they update the site to Sept.'s recipes if it is on there)
My friend and I were discussing an upcoming ice cream-themed birthday party and it reminded of this cast-iron ice cream holder. I haven't taken the time to look for one, but it would be fun item to get my hands on.
Wedding sites and blogs have some of the neatest ideas for entertaining or just for life in general. Snippet and Ink is a new favorite- I love the colors in these inspiration boards.
In my quest to improve upon my entertaining skills I stumbled upon Martha Stewart's Party Planning Guide. I am definitely on the casual end of hostessing, more backyard brunch/barbecue than gorgeously put together dock setting, but I want to remember using bamboo to hang lamps or decor.
This table setting is appealing and simple and I think I might be able to pull the basic look off. I need to start serving meals in a more aesthetically pleasing setting for my family and friends. It really sets the mood and makes the meal much more than just a meal.
I love what these chandeliers do for this outdoor set-up.

I love these centerpieces.
It is hard to see in this small picture, but it looks as though their is a long line of roses arranged similar to above, then covered in plexiglass. Visually appealing, contemporary, and practical.
We love having people over and I like to think that eventually I could be this on the ball when it came to entertaining. The colors they have used are fabulous.
