Catch and Release

To attain knowledge, add things every day;
to attain wisdom, remove things every day."

-Lao Zi (Tao Te Ching)

I read this today and had to save it because this is what I am trying to apply to my life in every aspect. There is so much I should and could be doing and so much I can get rid of to allow me to be more focused and productive. (Another blog Holly? Doesn't this contradict what you just wrote?) When I was toying with putting together some sort of New Year's resolution list, I stumbled upon something where they actually suggested writing a 'not to do list," and was struck by how appropriate that seemed. While I haven't done one yet, I'm not quite sure it is one I would want to post for the world to see . . .

One simple thing I am starting to let go of: I read quite a few different magazines and have always felt compelled to read them from cover-to-cover. I am starting to let go and realize that I don't need to read that article on mergers and acquisitions or how to bathe a newborn. If it isn't applicable or interesting, I don't need it.

hey, you never know when a little merger and acquisition knowledge might come in handy....

my mom's motto is "simplify" and I definitely could do better at it.

good thoughts!

I LOVE this quote! I am going to type this up and hang it in my bathroom where I will see it everyday!

THanks for sharing!

I'm glad sharing this helped!

I'll start reading about M&A when it starts to be interesting or applicable. But then again, you never know when you'll be at a dinner party and it will come up . . .

growth is constant evolution--I'm surprised at how much I am still working on me or unfortunately how much work I still need.
